Sally & Geno // Cherry Blossom Boat Wedding

Sally & Geno were married in the beautiful Saint Mary Catholic Church in Old Town Alexandria. The wedding party then walked through Old Town to the waterfront for the reception – which was aboard the Cherry Blossom Boat! The Cherry Blossom, operated by Potomac Riverboat Company, was thrilling and perfect for an afternoon reception. We had an absolute blast shooting these two.

April & Dan // A Baltimore Wedding

Really excited to finally have a chance to show off April & Dan’s wedding. Right from the start I knew these images would be unique and stand out (Just like their engagement – see it here.)

April began getting ready at the luxurious Hotel Monaco in downtown Baltimore.
Dan and his groomsmen chose something a little off the beaten path, a really cool place called The Quinntessential Gentleman.. “Baltimore Maryland’s Finest Mens Grooming Parlor, Salon and Barbershop.” And that it was!

The ceremony and reception venue was on 2640 St. Paul Street in Baltimore, aptly named “2640″. With a mysterious feel this venue really provided a grungy yet classy atmosphere to create some one-of-a-kind images.

Nikki & Jordan // Wedding

Happy New Year! It’s not too late to say that, right? I’ve got some exciting weddings and engagements to show off from late 2011. One of my goals for 2012 is to focus more on my blog and share with everyone the awesome events and people I get to cover.

To start this year off I’m thrilled to post Nikki and Jordan’s wedding. They are undoubtedly some of the coolest people I met last year, and their wedding was one of the most memorable.

We began at their house in beautiful South Riding and at the Four Points Sheraton in Manassas. Their ceremony was held at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Afterwards, we headed over to Manassas Battlefield to capture some epic bride, groom, and bridal party photos. We finished at the The Piedmont Club in Haymarket, VA.

April & Dan // Penn Station Engagement

Meet April and Dan. An awesome couple that chose one of the most unique urban locations you could imagine: Pennsylvania Train Station in Baltimore. This train station engagement shoot was a fun change of pace from my last few sessions and a thrill the whole way through. We ventured in and out and down and up – capturing some great shots.

Melinda & Pat // Portland Engagement

Melinda and Pat are two of the most down to earth and nicest people I’ve met in a while. Melinda is from Alaska and Pat is from Portland, Maine (oh.. just a few miles away). Once they booked me for their DC wedding it came down to timing and a location for their engagement. It happened that they decided on Portland and flew me out with them!

I had the pleasure of meeting Pat’s parents, getting a comprehensive tour of Portland’s coast, learning way too much about lighthouses (just kidding!), eating some awesome lobster and homemade enchiladas, and of course spending the day capturing these two together. The sun even decided to come out in full swing; it was the perfect weekend mixture. I can’t thank you both enough!

With that said I’m extremely excited to show off just a handful of my favorites from their Portland engagement shoot. Enjoy!

April & John // Mansion Wedding

This fall I’ve already had the opportunity to travel all over for weddings and engagements. Just an hour west brought me to Haymarket on Saturday, while a short hour east presents Baltimore, a totally different environment. That’s one great aspect of living and working in Washington DC, it serves as a central hub for urban atmospheres, rural landscapes, and anything in between.
I had the pleasure of photographing April and John’s wedding throughout Baltimore, with their day beginning at the fabulous downtown Marriott Courtyard near the Inner Harbor. We then had a short drive to St. Vincent de Paul Church, which really had a grungy facade and mysterious feel to it, as you can see below.

Their wedding ended at the Mansion at Valley Country Club, which is a historic victorian mansion north of Baltimore. This made for an exciting reception and provided fantastic elements for some unforgettable pictures.

Danielle & Karl // Engagement

If you haven’t noticed, it’s been quite wet the last few weeks (and months). Dodging hurricanes and tropical storms is always a challenge when you have lots of awesome people to photograph. Last week I had the pleasure of shooting Danielle and Karl’s engagement photos near their home on Capitol Hill. They brought along an awesome little surprise – Max the Jack Russell Terrier.
With relentless rain the days before and 90% chance of precipitation the exact time of shooting, we had begun to brainstorm creative umbrella photos. However mother nature gave us a window of opportunity, and we didn’t waste any time taking advantage of it!

Danielle and Karl live right near the heart of Eastern Market, an awesome Capitol Hill neighborhood in Washington, D.C.
We began there with Max, and had a blast exploring the unique atmosphere and ‘old-town’ feel Eastern Market has to offer. After, we hopped on the metro to the National Mall, and worked our way towards the Washington Monument, finishing with one of my favorite sunset + silhouette shots.

Really looking forward to their wedding in June!

Arlene & Sam // Bride & Groom

Meet Arlene and Sam. Two awesome people that came to me seeking some rockin’ bride and groom photos. Something diverse and a little different. We decided on one of my favorite spots throughout the DC area, Old Town Alexandria. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – each and every time I shoot there brings a whole new dynamic to the photos. We had a great time wandering through the streets, taking advantage of the uniqueness Old Town has to offer, while incorporating beautiful soft light and dramatic skies.

The last one in the set is my favorite. The right light, the right time, the right people!
