Melinda & Pat // Portland Engagement

Melinda and Pat are two of the most down to earth and nicest people I’ve met in a while. Melinda is from Alaska and Pat is from Portland, Maine (oh.. just a few miles away). Once they booked me for their DC wedding it came down to timing and a location for their engagement. It happened that they decided on Portland and flew me out with them!
I had the pleasure of meeting Pat’s parents, getting a comprehensive tour of Portland’s coast, learning way too much about lighthouses (just kidding!), eating some awesome lobster and homemade enchiladas, and of course spending the day capturing these two together. The sun even decided to come out in full swing; it was the perfect weekend mixture. I can’t thank you both enough!
With that said I’m extremely excited to show off just a handful of my favorites from their Portland engagement shoot. Enjoy!

Heidi & James // Arlington Engagement

Meet Heidi & James, an awesome pair of architects that are getting married in July. They decided to have their engagement photographs within the urbanity of Arlington and on the sidelines of 4 mile run trail. Great spots! We finished at a neat park right on the Potomac River in Old Town Alexandria.

Cat & Matt // Old Town Engagement

Meet Cat and Matt. They are super cool and chose to have their engagement photography in Old Town Alexandria. Not only is this one of the most unique places to shoot at, we started at 7:30 in the morning! So naturally it contrasted with the plentiful amount of people at the cherry blossoms.

A great location with some great spring weather made this session fun and relaxed, yielding some fantastic photos.

Christine & Aloysius // Engagement

Definitely one of my favorite fall sessions of 2010, Christina and Aloysius picked Great Falls National Park for their engagement photographs. The park divides Maryland and Virginia, and had us scrambling up cliffs and through the woods to get some great shots.

Their energy and sense of humor was awesome and everyone had a blast. Looking forward to their wedding this April.
